Restore Your Bedroom

It doesn't matter what kind of bed, mattress, or down comforter you have, that "Ah-Ha" feeling is all about the sheets. I've purchased literally all kinds of sheets, even the uber expensive and impractical Frette Linens, and I finally found the perfect recipe: Restoration Hardware Italian Hotel Satin Stitch Bedding & the dry-cleaners.

Restoration Hardware Hotel Satin Stitch Sheet Set
Queen 249$
King 279$

These sheets are reasonably priced and even though they're a mere 210 thread count, the key is that they're long staple Egyptian Cotton, made in Italy. I take my sheets to the dry-cleaners to have them laundered. No starch, no dry-cleaning, just plain laundered and pressed. Laundry is $2.50 a pound and makes the weekly sheet bill well worth it. The sheets are smooth, crisp and feel like some of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. In my opinion, there's nothing better.
Go ahead and try it, you know you want to....

Del Frisco's Grille Dallas

Del Frisco's Grille Dallas opened November 26th and is the second of it's kind to open, just after the first at Rockefeller Center, NewYork in August. Del Frisco’s Grille blends industrial and lush elements to create an atmosphere that is simultaneously urban, social, and inviting. I predict this will be a Dallas hot spot for many reasons. One, it's nice to have an option other than Tex-Mex in Uptown and I'm absolutely in love with the menu. I had lunch and some appetizers.

My favorites:
CHEESESTEAK EGGROLLS Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce, Honey Mustard 10
PIMENTO CHEESE FRITTERS Chipotle Ranch Sauce 9
SHAVED PRIME STEAK SANDWICH Horseradish Sauce, Au Jus, Frites, Pickle 15

Service was fast, friendly and fun. My only negative observation is that there were six people greeting at the front door and they all said welcome in some way or another, which was a little overwhelming and overkill to say the least. During most of the lunch, there were more staffers than patrons and often times running into each other. Clearly they're still ironing out the traffic work flow.

It must be noted that the music was particularly great and upbeat which plays right into the casual fun Uptown vibe. Del Frisco's Grille is by far my new favorite restaurant in town. Check it out. Chances are, you'll see me there.

Del Frisco's Grille is located at One McKinney Plaza at 3232 McKinney Avenue, at the corner of McKinney and Hall. The restaurant occupies 8,350 square feet on two levels of the building. Reservations can be made at OpenTable or by calling 972-807-6152.

The Knottery

The Knottery has some really dandy lux accessories without the lux price tag. Blue is one of my favorite casual colors to wear so I've added a few of my top picks from the collection below. Must haves definitely include the cable knit wool ties and the one inspired by the traditional cable knit sweater.  The mohair lapel flowers are fun too. Both Prince William and Harry have been seen wearing the red poppy lapel flowers in recent months in remembrance of those who have died in war.

Icon: Madonna

I was looking though some of my favorite icon photos this week and rediscovered these awesome photos of Madonna. I wish I looked this hot doing domestic duties.
